As the country's corona virus crisis deepens, number of pets being abandoned are increasing rapidly in Turkey. Especially when there was a rumor that corona virus in pets could transplant into humans, people abandoned their pets and let stray animals to starve. In Istanbul, over 100 animals are being abandoned in the near forest.

In India, with conflicting reports on animals being corona virus carriers, people have started abandoning their pets especially in Ut tar Pradesh. People claimed that they noticed animals abandoned in highways and bus stops which could lead to accidents

Several pets in China have been pictured dead on the street, with reports they had been thrown from tower blocks amid rumors that cats and dogs could spread the deadly corona virus.
